Hydroelectric project under the BOT modality promoted by the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE). It diverts the waters of the Grande de Tárcoles river. It consists of a gravity dam of Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) 54 m height forming a regulation reservoir of 14.7 hm3, a water intake in the left bank, an exposed steel pipe 405 m long and 6.5 m diameter, and a powerhouse housing two Francis turbines, with a total capacity of 50 MW.
Tunnel of diversion of 9.80 m of diameter
CARBON Engineering was contracted by ENEL Green Power for the final design, specifications, and quantities of the powerhouse, penstock and diversion works.
