SAN JUAN hydroelectric plant
This hydroelectric project uses water from the San Juancito river through diversion works with a concrete dam, with a lateral intake structure, degraveler and desander. The water is conducted through a concrete pipeline, followed by a 1070m tunnel, a pressure chamber where the pressure pipeline starts. The powerhouse has a horizontal shaft Pelton turbine operating with a 333 m gross head.

CARBON Engineering was hyred by Industrias Contempo S.A., part of the Terra Group, to conduct the feasibility studies, final design and construction plans for the project’s civil works . Also, follow-up visits were made during construction.
